Housekeeping (I am a Good Housekeeper) ~ Subliminal

I am a Good Housekeeper — Why is good housekeeping important? Why not let things go—after all, they’re not going anywhere. Is this the sort of inner dialogue you sometimes have? It doesn't matter if it's your home, your office, or just your room, when your personal space is clean, neat, and organized, life just flows better. But keeping your space clean is a lot more than just having a periodic spring clean, only to have the mess return gradually and relentlessly. Good housekeeping is all about creating those little habits that stop problem areas from even starting. When done correctly, good housekeeping does not take time and effort. With the right mind set, a couple of minutes here and a few moments there can soon have your space looking the best it ever has. And when your personal space is clean and neat, your productivity increases, and your relaxation becomes truly restful. Enjoy the peace that comes from a well-kept home! Good housekeeping is important for a multiple of reasons. For example, good housekeeping standards can help reduce accidents and mistakes. Good housekeeping increases productivity whether in the kitchen preparing meals or tidying up for unexpected company. Good housekeeping improves the safety in your home and with tools, utensils, and so forth in their right place, it’s much easier to complete jobs with less frustration. It’s been said that there are five s’s to good housekeeping. They are: SORT - identify things that are absolutely necessary to perform the operation and remove everything else (e.g. remove anything that will not be needed within the next thirty days) STRAIGHTEN - provide a convenient, safe and orderly place for everything and keep it there SCRUB - keep machines, tools and the working environment clean SYSTEMATISE - keep everything clean and orderly by making cleaning and checking a routine STANDARDIZE - standardize the previous four steps to ensure that the process never ends, and create an atmosphere of continual improvement.1 Bottom line, as Louisa May Alcott put it, “Housekeeping ain't no joke.” No—it takes discipline and planning. In many ways, it can seem somewhat scientific. That said, when it becomes a way of life, things just fit into place and housekeeping becomes another area of lives that we take pride in.  Switch a couple of gears in your mind and unleash the good housekeeper within you!
