Goat Willow (Pussy Willow)

Goat Willow, also known as Pussy Willow, is the beloved harbinger of spring, celebrated for its irresistibly soft, silky silver catkins that emerge on bare branches in late winter to early spring, weeks before most other plants show any life. This fast-growing deciduous tree is the classic pussy willow sold at florist shops for seasonal arrangements, and its early bloom makes it an invaluable source of pollen and nectar for bees and other early-season pollinators. A charming, naturalistic addition to moist garden areas and wildlife habitats.
