Gloves, Peter Max

From the pages of the celebrated Peter Max Poster Book comes this quintessential example of psychedelic pop art at its most exuberant. "Gloves" transforms the human hand into a cosmic vessel overflowing with flowers, organic forms, and pure chromatic joy. The central hand, rendered in ethereal lavender and violet, seems to pulse with energy as botanical motifs spill outward against a grid of smaller hand silhouettes in hot pink, lime green, orange, and yellow. Peter Max described this piece as representing the "glove of the vibrating relationship," a phrase that captures both the tactile intimacy and cosmic connectivity that defined his artistic philosophy. The repeating hand motif creates a visual mantra, while the central image bursts with the unbridled optimism that made Max the visual poet of his generation. A standout piece for collectors of psychedelic art and those seeking authentic examples of the era's most distinctive aesthetic vision.
