Glazed Fluid Bowl

An elegant porcelain tea bowl with a gloss glaze and artful, fluid rim. Minimal in form and surface, Lilith Rockett's exquisite work call attention to subtle nuances of line and shadow, with a delight in the quiet imperfections that characterize the handmade. Lilith Rockett, an American studio potter living in Portland, Oregon, works primarily in porcelain. Her work, created by hand on the potter's wheel, reveals a deep interest in exploring the qualities of the material: translucency, fluidity, density, and the velvety softness of an unglazed polished surface. Minimal in both form and surface, her work calls attention to subtle nuances of line and shadow, with a delight in the quiet imperfections that characterize the handmade. "I believe interacting with the handmade enriches us by enhancing our feeling of connectedness. Our interactions with the objects in our lives are part of how we create meaning and personal rituals, like sharing a cup of tea or keeping treasures in a special bowl. These details invite us to the moment, to a presence in the moment, a quiet celebration of the experience of living."  Lilith Rockett  Each piece is made by hand and so retains its own expressive particularities and imperfections, part of the beauty of the line.
