May Mental Health Awareness Ribbon

May is Mental Health Awareness Month! The month of May is dedicated to increasing public awareness and knowledge about different mental health struggles, erasing the negative stigmas behind them, and encouraging those who struggle with mental health issues to seek support early on. Mental Health Awareness Month seeks to eliminate barriers and reduce the stigma surrounding mental health challenges by promoting open dialogue and fostering a culture of acceptance. Increased awareness around mental health struggles not only helps to erase the stigma, but it  also helps to provide access to mental health resources for those who may be struggling. While promoting the notion that "it's okay to not be okay", Mental Health Awareness Month also advocates for increased funding for mental health services, and increased access to those services.  The National Alliance on Mental Illness, or NAMI, is a nonprofit, grassroots organization that is dedicated to supporting individuals and families affected by mental illness. It provides education, advocacy, and support services, aiming to raise awareness, reduce stigma, and improve mental health care policies. NAMI also offers resources for those living with mental health conditions and works to promote better access to treatment and support systems across the country In honor of Mental Health Awareness Month, 40% of all proceeds from this sticker will be donated to help support NAMI not just during the month of May, but year-round!
