The Gionbo Persimmon Tree is a premium astringent Asian persimmon variety prized for its exceptionally large fruit, superior flavor, and reliable performance in warm climates. Producing massive 4–5 inch, conical persimmons, Gionbo is widely regarded as far superior to the old Tanenashi persimmon long grown across the southern United States, delivering better sweetness, richer texture, and improved eating quality. When fully ripe, Gionbo Persimmons develop a deeply sweet, smooth, custard-like flesh that is best enjoyed with a spoon, making it one of the most indulgent dessert-quality persimmon trees for sale. This early-to-mid season persimmon ripens from mid-September through mid-October, providing dependable harvests before later varieties come on. Gionbo Persimmon trees are well suited for warmer climates, thriving in USDA Plant Zones 7–10. With proper planting and care, new trees can begin producing fruit in just 2–3 years, offering fast rewards for home orchardists and collectors. Strong growth, excellent texture, and consistent production make Gionbo a standout Asian persimmon tree for home gardens and specialty orchards. For growers seeking a large-fruited persimmon tree with exceptional sweetness, early ripening, and proven southern performance, the Gionbo Persimmon delivers premium results—a Chestnut Hill selection chosen for flavor, size, and reliability where it matters most.
