Set up your decorating area with a clean, flat surface. Have a pair of scissors handy to trim the piping bag. Prepare the Royal Icing Gently massage the piping bag to ensure the icing is evenly mixed. Cut the tip of the piping bag just a tiny bit (the size of a standard hole punch). Tip: A smaller hole gives you better control while decorating. Avoid cutting too large, as this can make it hard to pipe details. Decorating Suggestions Use the pink heart sprinkles as rosy cheeks for your gingerbread man. The white circle sprinkles make great eyes, adding a playful touch. Place the sphere sprinkles along the outlined buttons for a pop of color. Add your own creativity! You could use the icing to add scarves, bow ties, or hats to your gingerbread cookies. Want to add color to your icing? Squeeze a small amount of royal icing into a small cup. Add a drop of gel food coloring and stir with a rubber spatula until fully mixed. Scoop the colored icing into a new sealed piping bag using the spatula. Let It Dry Allow the icing to dry for 1–2 hours before handling the cookies to avoid smudging your designs.
