Use this to your advantage to call attention to the entrance to a garden path. Plant several of them as a showy backdrop to perennial gardens. Use them in modern mixed shrub borders to deliver a steady source of color and charm. It is pretty enough to take center stage in your foundation planting. Add one or several in a cluster at the corner of your home. As a pretty bonus, this "right-sized" Ninebark keeps its saturated foliage all the way to the ground. Leverage it for privacy screening behind your patio seating. Use a long hedge of Ginger Wine Ninebark to define your garden design. Plant four feet apart on center to create a solid screen. Measure from the center of one to the center of the next. They can even jazz up the look of mature evergreen trees. Plant several on the sunny side in a new mulched bed. Add bold color, butterflies and birds to your existing plantings. If you don't have a yard, they can be grown in an outdoor container for years. Use them to spice up the look of your balcony, porch or deck. Position them to hide any awkward views! #ProPlantTips for Care Plant or place them in full sun locations for best results. You'll get the richest color with at least six hours of direct sunlight. Likewise, they do best in well-drained soils. Ensure water drains away quickly after rain, or elevate them in a raised bed. During the first season, carefully water Ginger Wine Ninebark as the roots get established. After that, these rugged plants can handle a little dryness. However, we do recommend that you give supplemental water during drought to protect your investment. Ninebark has such a pretty, arching form. Plan for the mature height and width, and you likely won't have to prune them at all. If you want to shape them, do it directly after flowering is finished. Ginger Wine develops next year's bloom on this year's wood. Don't wait to prune or you'll miss out on next year's blooms. Keep your shrub vibrant with renewal pruning every few years. Remove the thickest, oldest stems at ground level and leave the thinner, younger stems in place. Let Ginger Wine make it look like you spend hours tending the garden...without actually spending hours doing it. Order yours today!
