Gilded by Marissa Meyer

Gilded by Marissa Meyer is a lush, dark retelling of Rumpelstiltskin set in a world of magic, curses, and dangerous bargains. Serilda has a gift she never wanted. Blessed (or cursed) by the god of lies, she can spin wild tales that feel impossibly real. When she tells a fib to the sinister Erlking, she finds herself swept away to his haunted castle and forced to complete an impossible task: spin straw into gold, or die. In desperation, a mysterious boy appears and offers to help her, but his aid comes with a price. As Serilda is drawn deeper into the Erlking's dark world, she uncovers secrets about the castle, the boy who keeps saving her, and a curse that binds them all. To survive, she'll need more than her gift for storytelling. She'll need courage, cunning, and the strength to break a curse that has lasted for centuries..
