The fourth iteration of our open hex design features a built-in jack, upgraded solid steel feet for stability, hex bolt removable handles, and the ability to be racked on most standard-size power racks.  There are several trap bars like this on the market with varying features that make each unique. We designed ours with the features we felt were most important while keeping the cost down and believe it's the best value on the market! The 16" and 10" Northland Open Hex are now both equipped with 28mm handles on both sides. *Photos on our website show 28mm and 38mm handles, but the current model now comes with 28mm on both sides and dual knurl markings due to customer feedback. Features: Now available with 10" and 16" loadable sleeves. All barbells are now metallic black *images on the site as shown are matte black. Both are equipped with dual 28mm knurled handles that are 25" on center with a center knurling marking.  Packaging has been updated to protect the different pieces of the barbell during transit.  The most common use for this barbell is for deadlifts, pressing actions, walking lunges, farmer walk carries, safety bar squats, and bent-over rows.  The truth is you can get creative and the possibilities are endless with the use of this barbell.  We hope you love it! Additional Information: This barbell is made for dropping at lower heights when performing deadlifts and shrugs. This bar is not made for dropping from overhead lifts or from a squat position.   Tolerances can range +/- 3% of all specs. We do not recommend this barbell with use of competition bumper plates since the tolerances of competition plates (50.4mm) are very tight and could cause an issue. Regular iron plates and bumper plates will work perfectly.  Commercial settings such as high schools, colleges, gyms, training studios, or places of membership the open hex barbell is covered for one year.  Welds are not covered after this one year mark as well since incorrect usage, abuse and lots of volume is common in these environments.  Sleeve replacements are only covered one time per bar in the one year period.  After that, we will offer 40% off retail if you wish to change the sleeves in the future.  It’s uncommon, but with the inconsistent iron plates or varying tolerances of plates it can add stress to different parts of the sleeve causing damage. We recommend using bumper plates with similar tolerances and equal diameters so that the pressure is subject equally throughout the bar.
