gfJules Gluten Free British Scones Mix

Tired of gluten-free scones that feel like dry, crumbly hockey pucks? You deserve an iconic tea-time treat without the gritty aftertaste!  Jules’ fail-proof gluten-free British scone mix recreates the magic of a true British tea scone (or even a fruit-filled American biscuit). Finally, a way to bake treats so light and delicious, nobody will know it’s gluten-free.  Tried and tested in a real kitchen, by someone who truly cares about the result. And quite possibly the best part is that this one-bowl recipe is so quick and easy that it comes together with a fork in a flash and bakes in less than 10 minutes! gfJules Gluten Free British Scone Mix Ingredients Making British scones gluten-free is notoriously tricky. Without gluten to bind the dough, scones often disintegrate the moment you try to spread the clotted cream or jam. To fix this, many mixes rely on heavy rice flour, which leaves a sandy texture in the mouth - you know the one! DEFINITELY NOT the pillowy softness a scone requires. Not with Jules’ mix! Unlike big-box brands, this one actually behaves like real flour, helping you achieve that iconic tall scone that pulls apart easily by hand, no knife required. Prepare baking sheet by lining with parchment paper and setting aside. Pour the mixture into a bowl and cut in 2 tablespoons of butter until pebbly, using a pastry cutter or two butter knives (or may be done with a mixer or food processor). Using a fork, stir in the egg and yogurt until the dough forms. Gently fold in fruit, nuts, or chips. Turn dough onto a clean counter or pastry mat dusted with gluten-free flour. Pat dough to a thickness of ¾ - 1 inch. Cut into triangles or circles.
