German Heer Officer Visor Cap Eagle (WW2)

This is an original German WWII Heer (Army) Officer Visor Cap Eagle, a period insignia worn on the service caps of Heer officers in the German Army during the Second World War. Heer visor eagles were an essential element of the officer’s cap, signifying branch affiliation and rank authority within the Wehrmacht’s structure. This example features the spread-winged national eagle with its head facing to the eagle’s left, clutching a wreath encircling a swastika — a characteristic configuration for Heer officer cap eagles. The detailing to the feathers, body, and wreath remains distinct, with sharp relief and well-defined contours that reflect quality wartime manufacture. The reverse retains its original attachment pins consistent with period visor cap installation. The crisp detail and overall presentation make this a desirable example of WWII-era German Army uniform insignia, well suited for collectors of Wehrmacht headgear and period accoutrements.
