Genmaicha is a traditional Japanese favorite, made from green tea blended with toasted rice, and often served to accompany a meal. The deep toasted flavor of the rice combines with the brighter grassy notes of the green tea for a very well-balanced cup, and the lower caffeine content makes this a great choice if you like to enjoy green tea with dinner or an afternoon snack. A small percentage of the rice is allowed to pop like popcorn during the roasting process and the little white rice clouds create a beautiful display while brewing.
