Genesis Argo Octopus

Overview The Genesis Argo Octo is a high-visibility alternate second-stage regulator designed to provide the same breathing performance as the Argo primary in an easy-to-identify yellow configuration. Its pneumatically balanced design, diver-adjustable controls, and lightweight construction make it a capable backup air source for recreational scuba diving. The Argo Octo features a single-knob performance adjustment and Venturi switch, allowing the diver to control second-stage breathing characteristics. A lightweight braided hose with swivel helps reduce hose pull and improves positioning, while Nitrox compatibility up to 40% provides versatility for recreational enriched-air diving. Best For Use as an alternate air source or octopus Pairing with a Genesis Argo primary regulator Recreational scuba diving Enriched-air Nitrox diving up to 40% Divers who want an easily identifiable high-visibility backup regulator Not Ideal For Customers looking for a complete first-stage and second-stage regulator set Nitrox mixtures containing more than 40% oxygen Key Features Argo-Level Breathing Performance: Designed to provide the same breathing performance as the Genesis Argo primary second stage. Pneumatically Balanced Second Stage: Provides smooth and responsive breathing performance when the alternate air source is needed. High-Visibility Yellow Design: Makes the octopus easy to identify quickly underwater. Single-Knob Performance Adjustment: Allows the diver to adjust second-stage breathing characteristics. Venturi Switch: Provides additional airflow control between surface and diving conditions. Braided Hose with Swivel: Lightweight hose construction and a swivel connection help reduce hose pull and improve positioning. Lightweight Construction: Designed for comfortable handling without adding unnecessary bulk to the regulator setup. Nitrox Compatible to 40%: Suitable for recreational enriched-air Nitrox mixtures containing up to 40% oxygen. The Argo Octo is designed as an alternate air source, but Genesis specifies it to provide the same breathing performance as the Argo primary second stage. Does the hose come with the Argo Octo? Yes. The Argo Octo includes a lightweight braided low-pressure hose with a swivel connection. Can the breathing performance be adjusted? Yes. The second stage includes both a single-knob performance adjustment and a Venturi switch. Why is the Argo Octo yellow? The high-visibility yellow design makes the alternate air source easier to identify quickly underwater. Can it be used with Nitrox? Yes. Genesis specifies the Argo Octo as Nitrox compatible for mixtures containing up to 40% oxygen. Care & Maintenance Rinse the octopus thoroughly with fresh water after diving and allow it to dry completely before storage. Avoid pulling, sharply bending, or placing unnecessary stress on the hose and swivel. Periodically inspect the hose, mouthpiece, fittings, and second stage for wear or damage, and have regulator equipment serviced according to the manufacturer's recommended schedule by appropriately qualified service personnel. Expert Insight The Genesis Argo Octo is more than a basic backup second stage. By carrying over the pneumatically balanced design, Venturi control, performance adjustment, and braided swivel hose of the Argo platform, it gives divers an alternate air source designed to deliver primary-style breathing performance while remaining immediately recognizable by its high-visibility yellow design.
