General Purpose Dolly-Multiple Sizes Available

Overview When you need to move heavy furniture, stacked boxes, or bulky equipment across a facility, a reliable moving dolly makes all the difference. These heavy duty roller dollies by Raymond Products are built from heavy-gauge, electric-welded steel and finished with a non-skid, non-marring bonded vinyl coating that grips your load and protects finished surfaces at the same time. Each dolly with wheels is rated at 800 lbs and rides on full-swivel, non-marking hard rubber casters for effortless maneuverability through hallways, doorways, and around tight corners. Available from Barron Equipment in three platform sizes — 14″ x 26″, 20″ x 30″, and 24″ x 36″ — this general purpose dolly lineup covers everything from compact appliance moves to large dolly applications involving wide furniture, AV carts, and stacked supply bins. Every unit is manufactured in Minneapolis, Minnesota and backed by a lifetime warranty. Features and Benefits These roller dollies are engineered for demanding, everyday use in commercial and institutional environments. The heavy-gauge steel frame is electric-welded for maximum structural integrity, creating a platform that holds up under repeated loading and transport cycles without flexing or warping. The bonded vinyl coating serves two purposes. It creates a skid-resistant surface that keeps loads from shifting during transport, and it acts as a non-marring cushion that prevents scratches on wood furniture, electronics housings, and other finished goods. The same floor-safe approach extends to the 3″ x 1¼” non-marking hard rubber swivel casters, which roll smoothly across tile, hardwood, laminate, and polished concrete without leaving scuff marks. Optional accessories expand the functionality of each dolly with wheels. A barrel cradle attachment converts the 1420 or 1430 into a drum mover for handling cylindrical items on their side. Upgrading to 4″ casters improves ground clearance and rolling performance on rougher surfaces or slight transitions between flooring types. Custom sizes are also available for operations with specialized requirements. Available Sizes Choosing the right platform size depends on the footprint of your most common loads and the spaces you work in. Below is a comparison of all three models in this heavy duty moving dolly series. Model 1420 – 14″ x 26″ — The most compact option with the tightest turning radius. Fits through standard doorways with clearance to spare. Ideal for appliances, safes, compact equipment, and loads that need to navigate narrow corridors. Shipping weight: 14 lbs. Model 1430 – 20″ x 30″ — A mid-size platform that bridges the gap between maneuverability and carrying area. Well suited for stacked boxes, mid-size furniture, and AV equipment. Shipping weight: 18 lbs. Model 1436 – 24″ x 36″ — The large dolly in the lineup, designed for wide-footprint loads like conference tables, file cabinets, large crates, and oversized supply bins. Shipping weight: 22 lbs. All three models share the same 800 lb weight capacity, 4⅝” overall height, and 3″ non-marking swivel casters. The choice comes down to load dimensions and facility layout. Applications Facilities managers, custodial teams, moving professionals, and event coordinators rely on these roller dollies for a wide range of transport tasks. The non-marring design and compact profile make them a natural fit for environments where floor protection and hallway clearance are priorities. In schools and universities, custodial staff use them to reposition desks, relocate classroom furniture during seasonal setups, and transport boxed supplies from loading docks to storage rooms. Convention centers, hotels, and churches depend on the large dolly models for staging events — moving stacked chairs, podiums, speaker systems, and folding tables between storage and event spaces. In offices and corporate campuses, these general purpose dollies handle everything from IT equipment relocation to furniture reconfiguration during office moves. Warehouse teams use them as a low-profile platform for staging product near shipping areas, and moving companies value the non-skid vinyl surface for protecting client belongings during residential and commercial moves. Selection Assistance Matching the right moving dolly to your operation starts with two factors: the dimensions of your most common loads and the weight of the heaviest single item you need to transport. Size the platform to the load footprint, then confirm the total weight stays within the 800 lb rating. For tight spaces, narrow hallways, or single-item moves involving compact loads, the 14″ x 26″ Model 1420 delivers the smallest turning circle. If your facility handles a mix of box stacks and mid-size equipment, the 20″ x 30″ Model 1430 offers the best combination of surface area and mobility. For wide loads, bulky furniture, or high-volume staging operations, the 24″ x 36″ Model 1436 provides the carrying platform needed to move large items in fewer trips.
