This obsession shifted in the 20th century toward fine press craft deliberately pushing the limits of the art form by producing exquisitely hand-bound, limited-edition micro-books that were fiercely hunted by dedicated collector societies. Today, vintage miniature books remain highly prized in the antiquarian trade, celebrated as the ultimate historical marriage of mechanical precision and artistic book arts.
