Organic Gem Lettuce

About Gem Lettuce Little Gem (sucrine) is a compact, specialty lettuce known for its small size, tightly formed heads, juicy crunch, and naturally sweet flavor. It is dense yet tender, with layered leaves that hold structure without sacrificing delicacy. Its versatility allows it to be served whole, halved, or separated into individual leaves. Widely used in some of the world’s best kitchens, Little Gem is valued by chefs for its reliability, clean flavor, and ability to hold up in composed dishes without collapsing or wilting. What Does Little Gem Taste Like? Sweet, clean, and refreshing, with a pronounced crunch. The inner leaves are especially tender and juicy, while the outer leaves provide more structure and bite. Its balanced flavor stands on its own but also pairs well with assertive dressings and composed dishes. How to Use Fresh Little Gem Lettuce Serve halved with vinaigrette, olive oil, or anchovy dressing Chop into salads for added crunch and structure Grill or char lightly for a subtle smoky edge Use as cups for wraps or composed bites Layer into sandwiches for crisp texture It holds up better than more delicate lettuces, making it well suited for both simple preparations and composed plates. Cooking Notes Little Gem pairs well with citrus, mustard, parmesan, herbs, and rich dressings. It can be used raw or lightly cooked—grilling or searing briefly enhances its sweetness while preserving its structure. Minimal preparation is needed: rinse, trim the base if necessary, and use whole or chopped. Shipping & Delivery We ship all produce via overnight delivery nationwide.
