Gatsby Glow Ball® Oakleaf Hydrangea

(Oakleaf Hydrangea) Gatsby Glow Ball® Hydrangea is a showstopper in the garden! It features crisp white blooms in the distinct cone shape that oakleaf hydrangeas are known for. The blooms age beautifully to a bright green color in the late summer/early fall. In areas that have cooler nights, the blooms will age to pink.  These extraordinary blooms are accompanied by deep green, oakleaf-shaped foliage. In the fall, the foliage takes on a stunning burgundy color for multiple seasons of interest. Hardy in zones 5-9, this hydrangea grows best in full sun to part shade locations of the garden or landscape. Its Gatsby Glow Ball® stands apart from some of the popular older oakleaf hydrangeas with its quicker growth habit, smaller stature, and fuller appearance, it can grow to about 3-4 feet in height and width. It is also both heat tolerant and salt tolerant. Gatsby Glow Ball® Hydrangea blooms on old wood, so it is not recommended to do any sort of trimming unless necessary. Oakleaf Hydrangeas prefer moist, well-drained soil but are tolerant of moist soil conditions as long as they are not overly wet. Try growing your hydrangea as a specimen plant in the garden or as a bold border. Its bright white flowers are a site to see in the summer! They also attract pollinators. Gatsby Glow Ball® Hydrangea is a Proven Winners® ColorChoice® Flowering Shrub.
