Garre Rug

Garre draws from the soft silhouettes of moss spreading across mountain stones and the faded patterns of lichen on old trees. Muted green shapes move quietly over a pale ground — a handwoven reflection of slow mountain walks, shifting light, and time etched into surface. A Basny rug is hand-woven from sheep's wool in the Ukrainian Carpathians. Each piece moves through more than ten stages of making. The woven rug is then treated in cold mountain water — submerged in a wooden reservoir set in a mountain river, where a strong current runs through the fibers for up to eight hours, making them dense, tight, and durable.
