A self-similar fractal was constructed to produce the illusion of a mosaic with distinct tile boundaries. Each cell is itself a mosaic, composed of an endless internal expanse of smaller components. The dark boundaries between cells arise because feature size shrinks at an exponential rate, diving toward the infinitesimal as each cell approaches (but never contracts) it's neighbors.
