Gallatin River - Spring Fly Box

Fish the Gallatin River like you know it — because now you do.   The Gallatin River Spring Fly Box is hand-curated specifically for the conditions, hatches, and trout behavior you'll encounter on the Gallatin from April through early June. Runoff is building and the canyon is waking up. Water is cold and slightly off-color through May, pushing trout tight to the banks and into slower side channels.   This box is built around the Gallatin's spring hatch calendar — blue-winged olives, midges, and early stoneflies. Every fly was chosen with nymphing runs and seams with heavier rigs in mind, giving you exactly what you need to match what the fish are eating at this time of year.   What's in the box: 36 flies total — 18 unique patterns, 2 of each — covering nymphs, midge larvae, small stonefly patterns, and soft hackles. No filler. No patterns that don't belong on this river in this season.   Pro tip from the water: Get on it early April before runoff peaks — some of the best nymphing of the year happens when the water first starts to rise.   Whether you're making your first trip to the Gallatin or you fish it every season, this box gives you a proven starting lineup so you can spend more time fishing and less time digging through bins at the fly shop.   Includes a quality waterproof fly box. All flies are hand-tied to Bozeman FlyWorks standards — the same quality we'd put on our own lines.
