Fungi Flip Book

Meet the new Fungi flipbook, a concept centered around motion in nature. Incorporating Louie Schwartzberg's stunning timelapse photography from the film Fantastic Fungi, this flipbook blends the captivating movements of nature with the delightful charm of a thumb-powered flipbook. What distinguishes this flipbook from a traditional flipbook is its ingenious mechanics, displaying six image sequences in a single volume. By simply changing the position of your thumb when using the flipbook, you can switch between one sequence and another - a bit like a magic trick.  In addition to the captivating visuals within each flipbook, the experience is enhanced with an innovative Augmented Reality (AR) feature. By scanning the slipcase of the Fungi flipbook with your smartphone or tablet, you can unlock additional content, allowing you to view the original time-lapse footage at its real speed. This feature offers a deeper, interactive exploration of nature’s intricate movements, bringing the beauty of the natural world to life in a dynamic, engaging way. Made by Flipboku, a flipbook publishing venture by animator and designer Jossie Malis and film music composer Julie Reier, with the mission to celebrate the art of animation and design through innovative flipbooks.
