Fuchsia magellanica - Hawkshead

Fuchsia magellanica ‘Hawkshead’ is a graceful hardy fuchsia with masses of elegant white blooms that bring cool brightness to shaded gardens. Its slender dangling flowers have a delicate, lantern-like look, creating a soft display from summer into fall while hummingbirds happily visit again and again. Also known as Hawkshead Hardy Fuchsia, this shrub is a beautiful choice for bright shade, woodland borders, cottage gardens, large containers, and partially shaded patios. The fine branching habit and fresh green foliage give it an airy, natural look, while the pale flowers pair wonderfully with ferns, heucheras, violets, hydrangeas, abutilons, and other shade-loving bloomers. Plant Fuchsia magellanica ‘Hawkshead’ in bright shade to part sun with rich, well-drained soil and regular water. In colder areas it may die back in winter, then return from the roots as the weather warms. Easy, refined, and hummingbird-friendly, this white hardy fuchsia is a lovely way to add long-season bloom to shade. Explore more beautiful bloomers in our Fuchsia collection.
