Expect a velvety, creamy body and a classic flavor arc anchored by milk chocolate, peanut butter, and caramel. The balanced acidity keeps the sweetness lively without overwhelming your palate, making it a versatile daily driver for multiple brew methods. With an SCA score above 86 points, this lot showcases the nuance of well-grown Brazilian coffees: a grounded sweetness, a clean finish, and remarkable consistency from cup to cup. It shines as a smooth morning pour and transitions effortlessly into richer applications throughout the day. Think moka pot, espresso-style extractions, and full-immersion brews-this is your go-to for indulgent, silky textures and dessert-like aromatics. Fruity Roasted Coffee - Fermented Elegance from Espírito Santo From producer Lima Bassoli at Sítio Bom Destino in Afonso Cláudio, Espírito Santo, this single-origin Catuaí 81 is everything we love about expressive Brazilian Arabica. A carefully managed fermented process elevates natural fruit tones to a captivating perfume: strawberry and raspberry at the forefront, grounded by molasses and honey. The medium roast preserves clarity and sweetness, giving you a layered cup that is juicy, structured, and exceptionally clean. Grown at 850 meters and scoring above 89 points on the SCA scale, this lot is a testament to meticulous farm practices and precise roasting. It’s tailored for filter methods and traditional coffee makers, where the clarity of its fruit-forward profile truly shines. Expect a lively, sparkling presence in the cup-an elegant contrast to the kit’s chocolate-leaning counterpart-and a limited-edition rarity you’ll want to savor slowly. Brewing Guidance for Peak Flavor Dialing in great coffee at home starts with good fundamentals. Begin with fresh, filtered water at 195–205°F (90–96°C) and adjust grind size to fine-tune extraction. Here are starting points for each coffee: Organic Roasted Coffee (Versatile Comfort) Espresso: 1:2 ratio (e.g., 18 g in, 36 g out) in 28–32 seconds for a syrupy, caramel-forward shot. Expect creamy texture and a sweet finish. French Press: 1:15 ratio, coarse grind, 4 minutes steep. You’ll get a lush body with rounded milk chocolate tones. Moka Pot: Medium-fine grind, gentle heat, stop early to avoid bitterness-enjoy a cocoa-rich, nutty cup. Fruity Roasted Coffee (Filter-First Expression) Pour-Over (V60/Chemex): 1:16 ratio, medium-fine grind, 2–3 pours over 3–4 minutes. Look for strawberry aromatics and a honeyed sweetness. Automatic Drip / Traditional Makers: Use a medium grind and standard gold-cup ratio (1:15–1:17). Expect lively raspberry notes and a long, clean finish. AeroPress: Medium-fine grind, 1:15, 2-minute total. A bright, jammy profile with molasses depth. Pro tip: If your cup tastes sour or thin, grind finer or raise the temperature. If it tastes bitter or heavy, grind slightly coarser. Small adjustments unlock the full spectrum of flavor. Sustainability, Origin, and Integrity From Brazil’s sustainably grown farms to Espírito Santo’s highland plots, this kit reflects a supply chain focused on stewardship and transparency. The organic component supports ecosystems through chemical-free cultivation, while both the natural and fermented processes are selected for flavor and resource mindfulness. By choosing this set, you’re embracing a thoughtful approach to sourcing and roasting that values producers, land, and cup quality in equal measure. Black Tucano Coffee Roasters roasts with precision to honor each lot’s potential. Small, careful adjustments during roasting preserve the sugars and aromatics that distinguish each profile-creamy chocolate depth on one side, luminous berry complexity on the other. The result is a pair of coffees that speak clearly of place and process, without compromise.
