Fruit Snacks® Blushing Pearl™ Columnar Peach Tree

Columnar Peach Tree Perfect for Small Home Orchards If you're looking to start or add to your home orchard but are short on space, the Fruit Snacks® Blushing Pearl™ Columnar Peach Tree is the perfect pick! With a columnar growth habit, this tree grows in a more narrow shape than traditional peach trees and is ideal for smaller spaces. The Fruit Snacks® Blushing Pearl™ Columnar Peach Tree blooms showy, shell-pink flowers in spring that develop into large, sweet, white-fleshed peaches that blush with pink and red in the summer. Even better, this fruit tree produces lovely yellow foliage in the fall, adding visual interest to your landscape throughout the seasons. This variety has a dynamic flavor profile with just enough acid to bring out the rich, sugary sweetness of its freestone fruit. Enjoy Blushing Pearl™ peaches fresh from the tree or bake them into pies, desserts, or preserves. You can even dehydrate them to enjoy as a snack later in the year. The Fruit Snacks® Blushing Pearl™ Columnar Peach Tree performs well in milder climates and tolerates lower chill hours. Plant it as a hedgerow with other columnar fruit trees or as an accent or privacy screen. Because of its narrow shape, this tree will also fit nicely in side yards or framing either side of an entryway. The Fruit Snacks® Blushing Pearl™ Columnar Peach Tree is the perfect pick for those who have smaller spaces to plant but still want the homegrown goodness of their own edible orchard. It is always a good idea to mulch the surface 3 to 4 inches deep to 3 feet outside of the canopy of the tree. This practice will cut down on moisture evaporation and help keep the roots cool in the hot summer. 2. Watering: Water deeply and regularly in the first few growing seasons to establish a root system; once established you can water when the top 2 inches of soil is dry. 3. Fertilizing: Fertilize in late winter before blooms emerge. 4. Pruning: Prune to shape and remove dead or damaged branches. Keep these trees pruned for size control and ease of harvest. They can be kept to any height you like with an annual summer prune. 5. Pollination: This plant is self-pollinating, so you will get fruit with just one tree, but will increase your yield by planting other columnar peach trees near it.
