Fruit Bowl Gaze

A Watchful Still Life ReimaginedA silver bowl brims with grapes, pears, figs, pomegranates and plums, each fruit rendered in deep purples, burnt orange and forest green. Above and below, dozens of disembodied eyes float against the dark violet ground, some weeping small teardrops. The engraved metal bowl and draped cloth ground the piece in classical still life tradition, while the staring gaze pushes it somewhere stranger and dreamlike. Rich, saturated, quietly unsettling. The uncanny mood fits well within Surrealist Art and Macabre & Gothic, while its warm produce and jewel tones also speak to collectors of Earth Tone Art. --- Fruit and a Thousand EyesClassic abundance meets something that watches back. Ripe grapes, figs and pomegranates fill an engraved silver bowl while eyes drift through the dark. It's beautiful, and it stares.
