"From the Edge" - Botanical Art

About the image: From the Edge is a limited edition of 250 images. The image reminds me of a poem: “Eventually, all things merge into one, and a river runs through it. The river was cut by the world's great flood and runs over rocks from the basement of time. On some of the rocks are timeless raindrops. Under the rocks are the words, and some of the words are theirs. I am haunted by waters” by Norman Maclean. "From the Edge" is interesting because it resonates with the poem "Eventually, all things merge into one, and a river runs through it" by Norman Maclean. The words of the poem beautifully capture the essence of interconnectedness, the passage of time, and the haunting allure of water and nature. The image, "From the Edge," I hope to evoke a similar sense of unity and wonder. It might depict a scene where land meets water, where the edge of a river or body of water is framed by the surrounding landscape. This juxtaposition signifies the merging of different elements and the flow of life symbolized by the river. Maclean's words, "Eventually, all things merge into one, and a river runs through it," resonate with the image by highlighting the interconnected nature of the world. The river, shaped by the world's great flood and flowing over rocks from the basement of time, represents the passage of history and the timeless nature of water. It serves as a metaphor for the larger narrative of life, where diverse experiences and stories blend together. When contemplating "From the Edge" alongside Maclean's poem, a deeper appreciation for the interconnectedness of all things and the timeless beauty of nature emerges. The image and the words evoke a sense of wonder, inviting viewers and readers to reflect on the profound mysteries that lie within rivers, rocks, and the vastness of existence.
