Frohnleiten Epimedium

Frohnleiten Epimedium is a resilient perennial that brings unexpected beauty to tough garden spots. It thrives in dry shade—places where many other plants struggle—and offers year-round appeal through red-mottled spring foliage and bright lemon-yellow blooms. Over time, it spreads gently into a lush, low-maintenance groundcover ideal for woodland gardens, borders, and under trees. Lively Color Where You Least Expect It: This Epimedium is built for shade. Its heart-shaped leaves emerge in spring with a red-flecked pattern that softens to green as the season progresses. In early spring, sprays of cheerful lemon-yellow flowers lift the look even further—bringing brightness and charm to darker corners of the garden. Low Maintenance and Drought Tolerant: Frohnleiten settles in quickly and asks for very little. Once established, it’s impressively drought tolerant—making it a great choice for gardeners looking to reduce watering without sacrificing beauty. Its deep roots help it stay resilient through dry spells. Beautiful Texture That Lasts Through the Seasons: Even when not in bloom, this Epimedium keeps working for your landscape. Its semi-evergreen foliage holds form and texture, weaving a soft, natural look that fits beautifully in shaded borders or as a living carpet beneath trees and shrubs.
