Flippin' Frog® XL Pool System | 5,000-10,000 gal

The Flippin' Frog® XL Complete Pool Care System is a two-cartridge water care kit designed for pools holding 5,000 to 10,000 gallons — the medium-sized backyard pool range that's too big for the standard Flippin' Frog system and too small to need a fully automated pool chlorinator. Snap the mineral and chlorine cartridges together inside the floating dispenser, drop it in the pool, and the system handles the daily sanitizing work on its own. The fundamental selling point is the same as the smaller version: instead of measuring chlorine granules, tossing tabs in a floater, or making weekly trips to the pool store, you set a dial once and let two pre-filled cartridges do the work for weeks at a time. The mineral cartridge handles continuous antimicrobial protection for up to 6 months. The chlorine cartridge releases stabilized chlorine at the rate you set for 3–4 weeks, then flips over to tell you it's time to swap it. Together they need up to 50% less chlorine than a traditional chlorine-only program — gentler water, less smell, less wear on swimsuits. The XL is the right starting product for the most common backyard pool size — typically the 18 to 24 foot above-ground pools that hold around 6,000–8,000 gallons. If you've been running one of those on chlorine tabs and have finally had enough of the daily judgment calls, the XL system is a different approach altogether. Why Mineral + Chlorine Beats Chlorine Alone: A pure-chlorine pool program needs to maintain enough free chlorine to do all the sanitizing work itself — and that level is high enough to cause the strong chemical smell, bleached swimsuits, and irritated skin that most pool owners associate with "pool chemicals." Silver minerals in the green cartridge destroy bacteria in their own right, which means the chlorine level can run lower and still keep the water clean. Less chlorine, less smell, less irritation, and water that feels noticeably better against your skin. Brand FROG®
