The base weave is laid first, the fringe strands worked in by hand across each row as the weaving progresses, the even spacing of the fringe rows visible proof of that time. No synthetic fibers and no dyes are used at any stage of production. Hand-Spun Fringe   Every strand is hand-spun before weaving begins, twisted from raw fleece to a thickness that wanders along its length. That gives each one its own drape and angle.
