Frill Factor™ Aftershock Pinks (Dianthus)

(Pinks) Frilly petals and dramatic coloring make Dianthus FRILL FACTOR™ 'Aftershock' an exciting addition to sunny gardens. Large, light pink flowers feature bold fuchsia eyes that create striking contrast. Heavily serrated pink edges give each bloom the distinctive fringed appearance of the FRILL FACTOR™ Series. The flowers also offer a pleasant fragrance when they open. Despite its low-growing habit, this perennial spreads into a substantial mound. Plants reach just 8-10 inches tall while spreading 26-28 inches wide. The dense growth stays neat while slowly filling available garden space. Dianthus FRILL FACTOR™ 'Aftershock' performs best in full sun with well-drained soil. Hardy in zones 4-9, this Dianthus offers improved cold hardiness and strong vigor. Its compact height works especially well near the front of perennial beds and borders. The generous spread also makes it useful as a flowering groundcover in sunny areas. An abundance of large blooms creates plenty of color without adding excessive height. The fragrant, frilled flowers also make beautiful additions to fresh-cut arrangements. Snip several stems to enjoy their intricate coloring and texture indoors. Butterflies and bees can visit the flowers for nectar while blooms remain in the garden. Deer generally avoid Dianthus, making it a useful perennial for areas that experience browsing pressure. Dianthus FRILL FACTOR™ 'Aftershock' is a Proven Winners® Perennial.
