In 'Friends on Blends,' the artist renders the profiles and their shoulders in minimalist, calligraphic brushwork - reminiscent of Matisse.  These fluid profile lines are met with an expressionistic flourish of brushstrokes, vivid color and floral swirls crowning the figures. Their eyes are sultry and half-closed, content in their companionship and setting. The artist has framed the friends with a vibrant color blend border on margins of bold, acrylic color planes. The tranquil subjects are met with daring color - creating an unforgettable work.  2008 10" x 12.75" ©ALP, Inc.
