Friend Zone Decaf

Cat & Cloud's Friend Zone proves that decaf doesn't mean compromise. This single-origin Ethiopian coffee undergoes 100% water processing—no chemicals, just pure flavor extraction—preserving the bright, layered character that makes Ethiopian coffees so beloved. The result is a decaf that stands proudly alongside any caffeinated offering, with complexity that surprises from first sip to finish. Tasting NotesFriend Zone opens with the sweet-tart brightness of strawberry jam, that cooked-fruit character that feels both familiar and intriguing. As the coffee cools, you'll find the earthy richness of cocoa nib emerging, adding depth and a subtle nuttiness that grounds the fruit. The finish settles into molasses territory—developed brown sugar sweetness with a syrupy, coating mouthfeel that lingers beautifully. The body is medium-full, the acidity gentle and balanced, never sharp. This is low-toned coffee with just enough fruit brightness to keep things interesting. Brew MethodsFriend Zone excels in both espresso and brewed coffee applications. As espresso, it pulls with thick crema and syrupy texture, those molasses notes amplified by pressure extraction. The fruit remains present but integrated, creating a balanced shot that works beautifully in milk drinks—the chocolate and brown sugar notes shine through cortados and lattes. For pour over or drip, Friend Zone reveals more of its strawberry-forward character, with clean separation between fruit, chocolate, and sugar notes. French press brings out maximum body and sweetness, emphasizing that molasses finish. This coffee also takes cream and sugar exceptionally well, if that's your preference—the additions accentuate rather than mask the underlying flavor profile.
