Friedrich Breeze 3 Ton Breeze Select Central Ducted Heat Pump Split System with Surge Protector

A heat pump that cools in triple-digit heat and heats well below freezing gives you one less system to worry about. The Friedrich Breeze 3 Ton Central Ducted Heat Pump Split System does exactly that, using a Precision Inverter compressor with variable-speed operation to maintain your set temperature across extreme conditions. Note: This model requires professional installation and does not include a 3/8 x 5/8-inch line set. Key Features and Benefits of the Friedrich Breeze 3 Ton Central Ducted Heat Pump Split System with Surge Protector Precision Inverter Compressor: Features an inverter rotary compressor with Soft-Start technology, delivering 35,000 BTU of cooling and 36,000 BTU of heating while ramping up smoothly to your set temperature. Inverter Efficiency: Achieves a 17.5 SEER2 and 9.8 EER2 rating, translating to lower monthly energy bills compared to fixed-speed systems. Variable-Speed Operation: Adjusts compressor speed continuously to match your home's thermal load, maintaining steady indoor temperatures without constant on-off cycling. Wide Operating Range: Functions in ambient temperatures from -4 degrees F to 75 degrees F for heating and 5 degrees F to 115 degrees F for cooling, covering you through extreme weather. High Airflow: Moves up to 3,800 CFM through your ductwork, distributing conditioned air evenly and reducing hot and cold spots throughout your home. Eco-Friendly Refrigerant: Uses low Global Warming Potential R-454B refrigerant, reducing your system's environmental impact while meeting current industry transition standards. Indoor Noise Level: Reaches a maximum of 57 dB indoors, comparable to a normal conversation, so your system won't overpower your living space. Dual Certified: Carries both AHRI and cETLus certifications, confirming the system meets rigorous industry performance and safety standards. Surge Protection: The bundled TP-VRMDC-KIT surge protector shields the system's electronics against power spikes, helping you avoid unexpected repair costs from voltage irregularities. The kit includes the TP-VRM-60A, TP-SPD-50, and 60A disconnect breaker in a NEMA 3R enclosure. Planning Your Installation Layout Professional installation is required, and the system runs on 208 to 230 volt power, a standard range for residential HVAC. The outdoor condenser measures 35.38 x 29.5 x 13.38 inches (W x H x D) and weighs 116.8 pounds, making it compact enough for most side yards or patio pads, while the indoor air handler stands 19.62 x 46.12 x 21.62 inches (W x H x D) at 135.1 pounds. With support for line set runs up to 115 feet and height differentials up to 80 feet, your contractor has flexibility in positioning both components. This bundle includes a surge protector but does not include a line set, so plan accordingly with your installer. Sylvane's Expert Take If you're a contractor or installer specifying a whole-home heat pump for a residential replacement or new construction project, the Friedrich Breeze 3-ton simplifies your job while delivering year-round capability that conventional single-stage systems can't match. Its 17.5 SEER2 rating and heating performance down to -4 degrees F let you put in a single system that covers most climates without requiring a separate furnace. The Soft-Start technology makes a real difference for occupant comfort because the compressor ramps up gradually instead of engaging at full power, producing a smooth startup rather than a jarring noise every time the system cycles on.
