Freud Router Bit 85-115 3-1/8 Inch (Solid Surface Edge Profile Drainboard Grooving Micrograin Carbide 1/2 Inch Shank 24000 RPM Handheld Routing)

Fabricate Luxury Integrated Drainboards and Custom Solid Surface Countertop Contours Flawlessly Transform ordinary acrylic sheet sheets and synthetic resins into functional works of architectural art with the Freud 3-1/8 Inch Solid Surface Edge Profile Router Bit 85-115. Purpose-built for high-end kitchen remodelers, bath contractors, and custom millwork fabricators, this premium edge profiling tool is uniquely engineered to mill perfectly sloped, uniform water drainage grooves directly into man-made surfaces. The specialized cutting profile combines a flat-bottom face with a tight 1/8-inch radius shoulder, guaranteeing smooth water runoff while imparting a high-end, bespoke finish across modern solid composite configurations. Engineered to withstand the extreme abrasive forces associated with machining compact non-porous minerals, this premium bit utilizes Freud’s proprietary, ultra-dense micrograin carbide formulation. This solid cutting core retains a razor-sharp edge significantly longer than standard woodcutting steel, ensuring pristine, burn-free finishes that require minimal post-rout sanding or hand-polishing. Built on a thick, precision-ground 1/2-inch shank core, it maintains strict balance and absorbs chatter at high rotational velocities up to 24,000 RPM. Whether guided along a template jig with a heavy-duty handheld plunge router or deployed on an automated workshop setup, this heavy-duty routing accessory delivers standard factory-fit accuracy across all composite countertops. Key Features Specialized Drainboard Profiling: Precision-ground geometry creates smooth channels with a flat center and 1/8-inch rounded wall radius for drainage lines. Solid-Surface Formulated Carbide: Premium high-density micrograin composite construction guards cutting edges against abrasive synthetic mineral wear. Thick 1/2-Inch Shank Core: Heavy-gauge shank core delivers maximum rigidity to neutralize bit flexing and hand-arm vibration during heavy material passes. 24,000 RPM High-Speed Velocity: Speed-rated up to a fast 24,000 RPM to yield ultra-smooth finishes and prevent material chipping. Dual-Flute Steel Construction: Dual-cutter arrangement ensures swift debris clearance and structural stability for consistent deep trench profiling. Universal Composite Performance: Seamlessly profiles all major non-porous acrylic composite polymers and premium decorative countertop brands. When milling deep sloping drainage grooves with the wide 3-1/8 inch diameter 85-115 bit, never try to cut the full depth channel in a single plunge. Instead, clamp a rigid straightedge guide jig firmly to the surface and remove the material incrementally using 3 or 4 progressively deeper passes. This stepped cutting process preserves the micrograin carbide edges, eliminates tool chatter marks, and prevents the polymer resin base from melting or discoloring.
