Freud 98-507 2 Piece Crown Molding Router Bit Set 1/2 Inch Shank 5-1/2 Inch Profile Custom Architectural Millwork High Ceiling Cabinetry Trim

Transform Your Home with Massive 5-1/2 Inch Architectural Crown Molding Created in Your Own Shop Elevate your interior spaces from basic to breathtaking with the Freud 98-507 2-Piece Crown Molding Router Bit Set. This specialized industrial combination is the ultimate solution for woodworkers looking to produce impressive, large-scale 5-1/2" wide crown molding at a fraction of the cost of custom-ordered profiles. Perfect for rooms with high ceilings, grand entryways, or high-end custom cabinetry, these bits allow you to mill professional, stain-grade molding from any hardwood or softwood. By using a two-step process—one bit for the upper profile and one for the lower—you can achieve a depth and complexity of detail that is simply impossible with standard single-pass bits. Engineered for the serious craftsman, each bit in the 98-507 set features Freud’s TiCo High-Density Carbide for maximum edge retention and a flawless surface finish. The bits are treated with a non-stick Perma-SHIELD coating, which protects against heat, resin pitch buildup, and corrosion, ensuring a longer tool life and cleaner cuts. Because these are large-diameter architectural bits, they are designed exclusively for use in table-mounted routers with a tall fence system. This set provides the stability and precision needed to add a high-end, custom look to large furniture pieces, entertainment centers, and sophisticated millwork projects throughout the home. Key Features Impressive 5-1/2" Profile: Precision-matched two-bit set produces a massive, popular crown molding profile for grand architectural impact. Professional Grade Results: Expertly routs hardwoods and softwoods to create beautiful, stain-grade molding with zero tear-out. Perma-SHIELD Non-Stick Coating: Reduces friction and heat buildup while preventing the pitch accumulation that ruins wood surfaces. Cost-Effective Millwork: Save thousands by milling your own custom crown molding instead of purchasing expensive pre-made trim. Industrial 1/2" Shank: Provides maximum stability and safety for high-torque, large-profile routing applications. Always use featherboards and hold-downs to keep your stock tight against the fence and the table. To ensure a glass-smooth finish and prevent wood scorching, mill your profile in three or more incremental passes, moving the fence slightly for the final "cleanup" pass to eliminate any remaining tool marks.
