Fresh Organic Romano Pole Beans

Certified organic. Hand-harvested to order. Shipped overnight, nationwide. Broad, flat Italian pole beans with exceptional sweetness, rich flavor, and a tender, meaty texture. Unlike bush beans, Romano beans grow on climbing vines — a slower, more labor-intensive crop that rewards the wait with longer, more substantial pods and deeper flavor than standard green beans. Every bean in this box is certified organic and hand-harvested at peak tenderness — not machine-picked or bred for shelf life like most grocery-store beans. We pack and ship the same day, so what arrives is close to what a chef would pull straight from the field. Choose from Green Romano, Yellow Romano, or a Mixed Green and Yellow selection, available in 3-pound or 5-pound boxes.   Order by Friday at 12 PM EST for Tuesday delivery, or Monday at 12 PM EST for Thursday delivery. About Romano Beans Romano beans originated in Italy, where they have long been treasured as one of summer's finest vegetables. Grown on climbing pole plants rather than compact bushes, they produce long, broad pods that develop outstanding sweetness and tenderness when harvested young. Unlike standard round green beans, Romano beans have a flatter shape, richer flavor, and more substantial texture. Their broad pods hold up beautifully during cooking while remaining crisp-tender, making them equally suited to simple family meals and refined restaurant preparations. Available Varieties Green Romano Pole Beans — rich, full bean flavor and firm, tender texture. Yellow Romano Pole Beans — milder, buttery flavor, same broad texture. Mixed Romano Pole Beans — A colorful combination of both depending on seasonal availability. How to Use Romano Beans Just trim the stem ends — no other prep needed. Sauté with garlic and herbs, roast alongside summer vegetables, or braise slowly with tomatoes and garlic. A Chef-Inspired Preparation One of our favorite ways to prepare Romano beans is inspired by our longtime customer, Chef Missy Robbins of Lilia, Misi, and Misi Pasta in Brooklyn. Grill the beans over high heat until lightly charred while still crisp-tender. Toss them while warm with garlic-infused extra-virgin olive oil, fresh lemon juice, and chopped parsley, then finish with fresh basil, mint, and flaky sea salt. While supplies are available, your order may include a small selection of fresh herbs from the farm to complement this preparation. Seasonal Availability Fresh Romano beans are available only during their summer growing season. Supply changes with field conditions, and each variety may reach peak production at a slightly different time. Shipping & Delivery We ship all produce via overnight delivery nationwide.
