Fresh Burdock Root

Fresh burdock root is a versatile vegetable that has been used for centuries in traditional Asian cuisine and herbal medicine. It has a long, slender shape and a brownish-gray skin with a creamy-white interior. The flavor of burdock root is slightly sweet and earthy, with a slightly bitter aftertaste. In addition to its culinary uses, burdock root is also known for its many health benefits. It is a rich source of antioxidants and has anti-inflammatory properties, which may help reduce inflammation in the body and protect against chronic diseases such as arthritis and cancer. Burdock root is also high in fiber, which can help promote healthy digestion and prevent constipation. To eat fresh burdock root, it is important to first wash and peel the skin, which can be tough and fibrous. Once peeled, the root can be sliced or grated and added to soups, stews, stir-fries, or salads. To prepare burdock root for juicing, wash and peel the root, then cut it into smaller pieces that can fit into your juicer. You can also add other vegetables or fruits to the juicer for a more complex flavor. Fresh burdock root should be stored in the refrigerator, ideally in a plastic bag to prevent it from drying out, for up to two weeks. It is important to note that burdock root can become bitter if stored for too long, so it is best to use it as soon as possible. To dry burdock root, wash and peel the root, then slice it thinly and spread it out on a baking sheet. Place the baking sheet in an oven set to the lowest temperature possible, and leave the root to dry for several hours until it becomes crispy. Dried burdock root can be stored in an airtight container in a cool, dry place for up to a year, and can be used as a tea or supplement for various health benefits. Overall, burdock root is a nutrient-dense vegetable with many health benefits, making it a great addition to any diet.   **ONLINE PRICES MAY DIFFER THAN STORE PRICES**   WE DO NOT SHIP TO P.O ADDRESSES WITHIN THE U.S., U.S. TERRITORIES, AND APO/FPO/DPO ADDRESSES.   PLEASE TRY AND BE HOME ON DAY OF DELIVERY PROVIDED BY TRACKING: WE WILL NOT BE RESPOINSIBLE FOR FRUIT LEFT ON PORCH/MAILBOX OR RETURNED ITEMS BACK TO POST OFFICE.
