Frequencies Vol 1-4 sale

ABOUT "Heavy with literary weight." —New Pages Get in on all 4 FREQUENCIES Volumes (so far) all at once with this sweet deal! Frequencies is Two Dollar Radio's journal of artful essays. We lovingly described it as "a grungier, less self-righteous Harper's." The essays featured are penned by contemporary luminaries such as Roxane Gay, Kate Zambreno, Blake Butler, and Joshua Cohen, as well as sharp new voices like Sara Finnerty, Tracy Rose Keaton, and Colin Asher. The pieces themselves are thought-provoking and wide-ranging, covering Guatemalan frontier towns, the effects of the gay sex trade on the Thai economy, issues of belonging in middle class black America, to the life and filmography of writer/director Barbara Loden. There are also fun interviews with authors like Mark Z. Danielewski and Grace Krilanovich discussing ghosts, T.S. Eliot interviewing T.S. Eliot, to a satirical (satirical=not real=fictional=satirical!) interview with rapscallion Shia LaBeouf that he didn't like very much. All Volumes' covers are graced with artwork from John Gagliano and his greatness continues on the inside with custom artwork for each essay (not to mention a custom font!).
