French Revolution The Butcher

French Revolution The Butcher shows a Parisian butcher, Robert Sauveur, who led a brutal life, slaughtering cattle by day, then drinking himself into a stupor each night—until he discovered politics. For this one man, the Revolution meant learning to think for the first time—thinking about life, liberty and truth. “Vivid.”—Booklist. “Lively.”—ABC-CLIO Video Rating Guide for Libraries. This is part of a series called The French Revolution: Revolutionary Witness, examining the consequences of the 1789 upheaval in France and all that followed. Produced by the BBC.
