Freefly Alta X Gen2 (NDAA)

Freefly Alta X Gen2 (NDAA): NDAA-Compliant Heavy-Lift Drone With 33 lb Payload Capacity for Government and Defense Operations The Freefly Alta X Gen2 (NDAA) is a fully NDAA-compliant professional heavy-lift drone built for government agencies, defense contractors, and critical infrastructure operators whose procurement requirements mandate component-level compliance across the entire system.  It carries up to 15.1 kg (33.3 lb) on a proven carbon-fiber airframe with a maximum gross takeoff weight of 34.9 kg, powered by a custom Skynode flight controller running Auterion Enterprise PX4, the same flight stack as the Astro Max, and equipped with a Doodle Labs radio link that brings the complete system into NDAA compliance: drone airframe, Pilot Pro controller, and radio link all certified. For federal program managers and procurement officers who have evaluated heavy-lift platforms only to disqualify them on compliance grounds, the Alta X Gen2 (NDAA) is the version that clears the review. Key Features and Benefits Full NDAA compliance: drone airframe, Pilot Pro controller, and Doodle Labs radio all compliant. 15.1 kg payload capacity: carries heavy sensors, cinema rigs, and multi-payload configurations. Doodle Labs radio: NDAA-compliant RF link for robust encrypted control in demanding environments. Smart Dovetail interface: quick-connect integration with Freefly and compatible third-party payloads. Custom Skynode flight controller: Auterion Enterprise PX4 with onboard LTE and Cortex-A53 computer. Internal payload bay: onboard Ethernet, regulated power, and LTE for custom mission integrations. Pre-installed 12mm rail mount: supports full payload capacity without additional hardware. Carbon-fiber Alta X airframe: IP43-equivalent protection rated from -20°C to +50°C. Standard Remote ID: pre-installed for FAA compliance and BVLOS mission authorization. Auterion Suite: cloud-based fleet management, telemetry, and mission logging across multiple aircraft. The NDAA version retains every capability of the standard platform without exception. The custom Skynode flight controller, Smart Dovetail quick-connect payload interface, pre-installed 12mm rail mount, dual 12V and 24V onboard regulators, FPV camera, Skid Landing Gear, and travel case all ship as standard. The internal cargo bay, accessible via removable chassis panels, supports onboard Ethernet, regulated payload power, and onboard LTE for custom integrations without external hardware. Auterion Mission Control handles autonomous mission planning, Auterion Suite handles fleet-level telemetry and management, and Standard Remote ID is pre-installed for FAA compliance and BVLOS authorization. Batteries and charger are sold separately. The Only Difference That Matters for Government Procurement The Alta X Gen2 (NDAA) and the standard Alta X Gen2 are identical in every operational respect — same airframe, same flight stack, same payload architecture, same in-box contents. The single difference is the radio link: Doodle Labs replaces Herelink, and that swap closes the compliance gap that made the standard version unavailable for federal, defense, and critical infrastructure procurement. Every other system capability — the 15.1 kg payload capacity, the Auterion Enterprise PX4 autonomy, the internal payload bay, the Smart Dovetail interface, the dual voltage regulators, the carbon-fiber construction — transfers to the NDAA version without compromise. For procurement officers and program managers evaluating heavy-lift platforms for government deployment, this is the version that clears the compliance review and delivers the mission performance required. Compatibility and System Integration Freefly Flux LiDAR (O1, L1, H1): compatible via Smart Dovetail with separately sold GNSS Mount. Sony LR1 camera: Smart Dovetail compatible; confirmed payload at Gen2 launch. Mōvi Pro gimbal: compatible with Payload Vibration Damper and Mōvi Pro Landing Gear (sold separately). Freefly Pilot Pro: included with Doodle Labs radio; preconfigured for Alta X Gen2 (NDAA). Tattu Plus 1.0 12S 16Ah AS150U batteries: recommended flight batteries (sold separately). Tattu TA3200 Dual-Channel Smart Charger: recommended field charger for dual-battery operations (sold separately). RTK GPS Ground Station: optional upgrade for centimeter-level positioning (sold separately). Auterion Mission Control and Suite: autonomous mission planning and enterprise fleet management platform. Applications and Use Cases Government and defense ISR: full NDAA compliance satisfies federal and DoD procurement requirements. Critical infrastructure inspection: compliant hardware stack meets security requirements for sensitive site operations. LiDAR and photogrammetry surveying: 15.1 kg capacity supports heavy sensor and dual-payload configurations. BVLOS corridor and inspection missions: Standard Remote ID and Auterion autonomy support extended operations. Multi-aircraft fleet programs: Auterion Suite enables centralized management across compliant fleet deployments. Industrial and offshore inspection: IP43-equivalent protection and -20°C to +50°C range support harsh environments. Cargo and custom payload integration: internal bay and full payload capacity support bespoke mission builds. The Alta X Gen2 (NDAA) is the answer to a procurement question that has forced government and defense operators into difficult compromises for too long: a heavy-lift platform with the payload capacity, autonomous flight intelligence, and integration architecture that serious missions require — fully NDAA compliant across every component, available now, and ready to fly the day it arrives on site. Batteries and charger are sold separately.
