Frank August Case Study: 06 Legacy Reserve 6 Barrel Batch

Frank August Case Study: 06 | Legacy Reserve | 6 Barrel Batch   Experience a bourbon that bridges generations. Nestor Liquor, your preferred partner for the world's most innovative whiskeys, is honored to present Case Study: 06 | Legacy Reserve—the 6th release in Frank August's multi-award-winning series. This release is a profound tribute to Kentucky's heritage, thoughtfully blending the past and present. This 6-barrel blend is a thoughtful dialogue between three of Kentucky's most storied legacy distilleries. It is a masterful composition of two hand-selected barrels from each producer, bringing together Kentucky Straight Bourbons aged 8, 9, and 10 years. Rather than showcasing a single origin, the intent was to explore how time, place, and tradition converge. Each barrel was selected not for its individual pedigree, but for its ability to contribute nuance, balance, and continuity. The result is a bourbon deeply grounded in classic craftsmanship yet guided by a contemporary pursuit of precision. Bottled at a robust 109.2 proof (54.6% ABV), this limited-edition bourbon is rich, expressive, and defined by a "wild elegance." Tasting Notes: Appearance: Rich amber with copper undertones. Viscous and steady, its legs reveal structure and maturity. Nose: Inviting and layered, the nose opens with vanilla bean, honeycomb, and caramelized pear. Beneath the sweetness lies a beam of seasoned oak—warm, structured, and unmistakably grounded. Subtle undertones of baking spices, candied fruit, and brown sugar rise with time in the glass. Palate: Rich and expressive. Waves of butterscotch, dark toffee, and baking spice unfold slowly, balanced by roasted pecan and a hint of orange zest. It is complex yet composed, like a story that's been passed down but never told the same way twice. Finish: Long and deliberate. Echoes of toasted sugar, charred oak, and dried cherry linger, softened by a silky mouthfeel. A final note emerges that is balanced, elevated, and quietly powerful—a finish that feels nothing short of heavenly. This is both a reflection on where bourbon has been and a statement on where it can go next. As your trusted retailer, Nestor Liquor is your premier destination for this limited and masterfully blended release. Add this exceptional bourbon to your collection.
