Fragmented

Fragmented Donna Isham (United States) Acrylic and oil on stretched canvas Size: 60"W x 72"H Framing available upon request Fragmented is a compelling contemporary painting by Donna Isham that explores identity, memory, and emotional fracture through expressive abstraction. A face emerges from a layered field of soft blues, greens, pinks, yellows, and earthy neutrals, appearing both present and dissolving within the surrounding marks. Fragmented examines the beauty found within imperfection. The work suggests that identity is not fixed, but assembled through experience, memory, and continual transformation. Isham’s layered brushwork creates a sense of psychological complexity, as if the figure is being reconstructed from fragments of feeling, experience, and perception. The gaze is direct yet vulnerable, giving the painting an intimate human presence.
