Heirloom red corn, developed at the University of Wisconsin in 1939, is special to the family since Joe’s dad grew it for 30 yrs. The mashbill for the 7 year old bourbon we used in this blend was compromised of 65% red corn, 13% wheat, 13% rye, 9% malted barley aged in Independent Stave Company Char No 3 barrels. About the product: Rye whiskey holds a special place in our hearts and in North American distillation history. Scottish and Irish immigrants dis-covered rye grain’s incredible versatility for producing bold and distinctive spirits. We scoured the country to find four producers who share our passion for this unique category. Our company was founded on the principle of creating and sharing whiskey with friends, so it felt fitting to name our first unfinished rye whiskey after two of our favorite customers: Thornton and Bathhurst. Enjoy!
