For OLIVE!!!

Olive was a healthy, happy baby until she took an unexpected turn at around 3 months old. I went to wake her up from a two hour nap for her feeding & that's when I found her lethargic and unresponsive. Called 911 and EMS came out, did basic vital checks and  said oxygen level was fine, blood sugar was good...that she should be fine & they didn't think anything was alarming and that maybe she was just tired. Despite what they said, I listened to my motherly gut and my husband & I rushed her to Children's Hospital. As soon as we checked her in, it was a code blue & all I remember was a rush of nurses and doctors doing what they needed to do to save my baby girl while my husband and I went to a corner in that room and just dropped to our knees to pray. The doctors said if we didn't rush her into the ER that evening, our sweet Olive would've never survived the next day. Due to cardiac arrest and the lack of oxygen she had, it resulted in a severe brain injury known as Hypoxic-Ischemic Encephalopathy (or HIE). She suffers epilepsy, is quadriplegic, has cerebral palsy, cortical visual impairment (CVI) and is g-tube dependent.  Fast forward, Olive is now 3.5 years old & finishing her first year of preK. She is the baby in the family. She has an older sister (8 y/o) and two brothers (7 & 6 y/o). They give her lots of love & have seen how awesome God has worked in our lives. I, mom have left the workforce during this new journey to learn and care for Olive & my husband is the only one working. Unfortunately insurance and Medicaid (KB) do not cover all of the things we need For Olive.  We took a leap of faith back in Dec. 2020 and left all of our immediate family and friends in Wisconsin to Georgia, where Olive has thrived in the beautiful weather the south has to offer. Her wheelchair is about 80 lbs and not ideal for parks and recreations. This stroller would be a blessing as our sweet Olive loves to be outdoors with her siblings.
