Foolish Man - Acrylic / Mixed Media on Canvas - 24” x 24”

Title: Foolish Man  Artist: Dan Forlenza Medium: Acrylic / Mixed Media on Canvas Year: 2025 Size: 24" h. x 24” w. x 1.5" Frame: none This striking neo-expressionist portrait captures the viewer with its raw energy and bold, architectural composition. Rendered in a primitive, street-art style reminiscent of Basquiat, the work features a stylized figure whose face is segmented into contrasting planes of crimson red and slate grey. Thick, confident white contours define the features, creating a mask-like quality that feels both ancient and aggressively modern. The figure is anchored by a geometric torso in warm ochre, set against a brooding, abstract background of charcoal and black washes. The artist uses visible brushwork and a limited color palette to create emotional intensity, focusing on the large, concentric eyes that serve as the focal point of the piece. Signed and dated by the artist (2025).
