Follistim (300iu)

Follistim is supplied in a cartridge that requires the reusable Follistim Pen (delivery mechanism) which is sold separately. Follistim Description Follistim is a a multi-dose cartridge containing FSH (follicle stimulating hormone) for injection. Follistim (follitropin beta) is sold as Puregon in Europe. It is a gonadotropin medication and contains a hormone found naturally in the body called follicle stimulating hormone (FSH). In women, FSH is commonly used with hCG (human chorionic gonadotropin) to help the ovaries get eggs ready for ovulation. In men, FSH causes sperm to grow and mature. This medication is supplied in 3 cartridge sizes: 300iu, 600iu and 900 iu. Before each injection, the patient dials the required dosage into the pen.  Follistim can be substituted with Gonal F (if allowed on RX). The medications are similarly priced but Gonal F tends to ship more quickly.  Special Shipping Information for Follistim: Before dispatch, the medication is marked for use within 90 days (in line with the manaufacturer’s guidelines) since it is removed from refrigeration for international shipping. Follistim – What’s Included In order to administer the Follistim cartridges you need to own or purchase a Follistim pen (sold separately). A pen from a previous cycle is fully compatible with these cartridges. Follistim (Puregon) cartridges include the microneedles required to administer multiple doses. No additional syringes or needles are required. The Difference Between US and European Follistim Follistim (Puregon) is a brand medication. There is no generic alternative. The composition of Puregon and Follistim are identical but the packaging may vary slightly between Europe and the US. Here’s how: US packaging: Follistim in the U.S contains a Follistim pen so there is no need to purchase one separately. European packaging: The packaging will say Puregon since this is the European brand name. Follistim (Puregon) in Europe is sold without the pen which needs to be bought separately. Microneedles are included with the cartridges. Follistim Uses and Side Effects Follistim Uses & Indications: Follistim is used as a fertility treatment in men and women.
