Focal Stella Utopia EM EVO Loudspeakers (each)

Focal Stella Utopia EM EVO Loudspeakers (each) EMBODYING EXCEPTIONAL MUSICALITY 3-WAY FLOORSTANDING LOUDSPEAKER Stella Utopia EM Evo joins the Utopia III Evo line. Real technological twin sister of the Grande Utopia EM Evo, it has absorbed the gist of the most outstanding innovations, in a 3-way version and with more convenient dimensions. With its 33 cm "W" woofer and latest technologies, its sound tuning reproduces mid ranges wonderfully. This high-fidelity loudspeaker produces perfect definition across the full frequency range, with the ideal balance between registers… The sound architecture of Utopia III has been preserved, to reduce harmonic distortion in the fragile mid-range register, which is so very crucial for revealing the artist’s emotions. Both loudspeakers are equipped with the very latest Focal innovations: the NIC (Neutral Inductance Circuit) and the TMD suspension (Tuned Mass Damper). The entire crossover system on the new speaker drivers has been redesigned. The rigidity of the Stella Utopia EM Evo cabinet has been improved using reinforcement rings positioned around the speaker drivers. The best components of their generation have also found their way into the Utopia Evo line: cables manufactured in France, a denser acoustic material inside the subwoofer, and the double terminal boards. New finishes add the design element to a timeless silhouette. Utopia III Evo remains an iconic line. It integrates a whole series of innovations and essential detailing to create something unique. And still streets ahead of the rest. EXCLUSIVE MEDIUM REGISTER It was natural for Focal to capitalise on the research carried out in 2008, which resulted new and exclusive innovations, particularly in the mid-range register.  TMD suspension: this technology provides a linear frequency response curve between 1 and 4kHz, while significantly reducing distortion in this range. The mid-range register benefits from remarkable neutrality. Neutral Inductance Circuit: stabilising the magnetic field was a challenge to overcome, in order to avoid harmonic distortion and intermodulation. The research carried out enabled Focal’s engineers to come up with an extremely stable magnetic circuit. ACOUSTIC FINESSE The entire crossover system on the new speaker drivers has been meticulously redesigned, for even greater precision. The rigidity of the Stella Utopia EM Evo cabinet has been improved using reinforcement rings positioned around the speaker drivers, enhancing the general acoustic coherence. COMPONENTS TESTED IN REAL CONDITIONS Focal's engineers selected the very best components on the market, choosing them from among the finest brands around after testing them in real conditions. All the internal wiring within the units is crafted in France. While looking at the wiring aspects of these new loudspeakers, Focal decided to increase the wire gauge of the cabling by 20%. The results can be heard immediately: the sound is even clearer and even more natural. Finally, for the bass register, the acoustic wadding lining we included inside the enclosure has been thickened for even tighter bass with more control and increased precision.   Specifications Type: 3-way, floorstanding bass-reflex loudspeaker Drivers: Electro-Magnetic 13" (33cm) 'W' woofer 2 Power Flower 61/2" (16.5cm) 'W' midrange drivers with TMD suspension and NIC magnet IAL2 pure Beryllium inverted dome 1" (27mm) tweeter  Frequency response (+/- 3dB): 22Hz - 40kHz Response at - 6dB: 18Hz Sensitivity (2.83V / 1m): 94dB Nominal impedance: 8 Ω Minimal impedance: 2.8 Ω Filtering frequencies: 230Hz / 2,200Hz Recommended amp power: 100 - 1,000W Dimensions (H x L x D): 61 1/3" x 21 3/4" x 32 11/16" (1,558 x 553 x 830mm) Weight: 374lbs (170kg)
