Focal 300 ICW6

300 ICW6 2-way wall and ceiling speaker 300 ICW6 is a balanced, versatile in-wall speaker. It can be integrated into walls or ceilings, and accurately reproduces music or films in home theater. Its 16.5 cm Flax cone midrange is exclusive to Focal, offering a natural, perfectly defined sound, ideal for highlighting voices and dialogue.               HOME CINEMA INSTALLATION Designed for faithful reproduction in stereo configuration, the 300 ICW6 in-wall and in-ceiling loudspeakers are also ideal for Home Cinema systems, guaranteeing clear dialogue and striking dynamics for enjoying your favorite movie soundtracks.           FOCAL TECHNOLOGIES A Focal innovation, the Flax membrane uses an eco textile based on French flax fiber. Its rigidity and lightness promote a sound of remarkable neutrality and definition. The adjustable tweeter, for its part, enables perfect adjustment of treble to room acoustics.   FOCAL SOUND MAKES THE INVISIBLE VISIBLE   EASY INSTALLATION Thanks to the EQI (Easy Quick Install) mounting system, no tools or screws are required, making installation quick and easy! Round or square, the ready-to-paint grilles are magnetized and designed to fit perfectly into any interior.       TECHNOLOGIES EQI SYSTEM Easy to install Sound quality is not enough. That's why Focal adds a valuable criterion for integration products: ease of installation. Thanks to the EQI (Easy Quick Install) system, assembly is greatly improved and facilitated, with installation time reduced to a minimum. This ingenious mechanism allows products to be installed by hand, simply and without tools.             TWEETER IN AL/MG Treble finesse Membrane shape and materials are essential. For the finest treble, our engineers have patented the inverted dome tweeter, a Focal signature. The inverted dome shape offers the advantage of low directionality and a small-diameter, lightweight coil for better acceleration. As for the materials used, they combine the key points of a good loudspeaker: aluminum increases dome rigidity and reduces distortion, while the addition of magnesium provides excellent damping. The surround that connects the dome to its support uses Poron, a shape-memory material. This surround is derived from the famous Utopia Beryllium tweeter, and reduces distortion by a factor of three between 2000 Hz and 3000 Hz, where the ear is most sensitive.     FLAX MEMBRANE Purity and precision of sound As the key component of a loudspeaker, the membrane is at the heart of our acoustic engineers' research. After more than five years of research and development, in 2013 Focal unveiled an exclusive membrane made from flax. Patented, this Flax cone is a sandwich made of very high quality French flax fibre placed between two thin sheets of glass fibre. It satisfies all the criteria of a high-fidelity membrane: lightness to offer good dynamics, rigidity to hold the bass and damping to deliver a neutral, natural, uncolored sound. It is an emblematic Focal innovation in many hi-fi products.         SPECIFICATIONS  Sound - Acoustics Product type 2-way Medium 6.5" (16.5cm) Flax Mid-bass Membrane Flax Response at - 6dB (Low frequency point) 45 Hz Frequency response (+/- 3dB) 65 Hz - 28 kHz Minimum impedance 4.8 Ω Nominal Impedance 8 Ω Recommened amplifier power 25 - 130 W Sensivity 89 dB Design Allowable ceiling thickness (min) 5 mm / 0.1875 in Allowable ceiling thickness (max) 30 mm / 0.81 in Easy Quick Install Yes Depth behind surface (Mounting depth) 3.94 in / 3.94 in Cut-Out diameter 216 mm / 8.5 in Depth 105 mm / 4.14 in Accessories Black and white felt Black and white felt ready to stick Cut Out template Yes Grids Delivered with ready-to-paint square and circular front grilles and painting protective mask
