Focal 100 IW6

100 IW6 2-way in-wall speaker The IW6 stands out for its impressive sound reproduction in relation to its compactness. This integrated loudspeaker is ideally suited to small to medium-sized spaces, whether for sound diffusion in a hallway or living room, stereo listening in a bedroom or kitchen, or home theater. PRECISE ACOUSTICS The IW6 features an adjustable aluminum inverted dome tweeter and a 16.5 cm Polyglass cone loudspeaker. For even better acoustics, adapted to the listening room, correctors equalize the treble and midrange registers.   UNEXPECTED MUSICALITY IN EVERY INTERIOR COMPACT INSTALLATION Thanks to its shallow depth (-10 cm), the loudspeaker fits discreetly into walls and is compatible with a wide range of configurations. Its magnetic grille adds a final touch of design and refinement to your installation. HI-FI OR HOME CINEMA With an extended frequency response from 60 Hz to 23 kHz, the IW6 is an easy-to-power loudspeaker. Combined with any hi-fi or Home Cinema amplifier, it reveals its performance, synonymous with sound immersion. TECHNOLOGIES INVERTED DOME TWEETER Optimum space dispersion The inverted dome tweeter has been a Focal signature since 1981, offering the property of being a true micro-speaker. The curvature of the dome is much less pronounced than that of positive domes. This results in better space dispersion and very low directionality, unlike ribbon tweeters. The inverted dome tweeter therefore generates unrivalled dynamics, enabling sound engineers to precisely control the dosage of compression. The precision of the image (height, width and depth) is remarkable, making it easy to position each instrument. What's more, a waveguide has been developed to perfect spatialization and further enhance the inverted dome's very low directionality. In the horizontal plane, the frequency response is within +/- 0.5 dB. This performance guarantees an incredibly stable soundstage.       POLYGLASS MEMBRANE Well-defined mids The diaphragm, the key component of a loudspeaker, is at the heart of our acoustic engineers' research. Polyglass technology, exclusive to Focal, consists of applying fine glass microbeads to a cellulose pulp cone. This process reconciles the excellent damping of paper with the rigidity of glass. The stiffness index is almost 10 times that of polypropylene. Adjusting the mass-rigidity-damping ratio results in a remarkably linear frequency response curve, right from the membrane design stage. This innovation also significantly increases definition in the midrange register.           REVIEW & AWARDS Focal 100IW6 In-Wall Speaker Reviewed - Read More "The Focal100IW6 is an attractive and affordable in-wall speaker option. First and foremost, it sounds great, and its performance is all the more astonishing given its compact size. The aimable tweeter and toggle-based driver attenuation or boost simply add to the installation flexibility of what would be a fantastic speaker even without those features. As I mentioned, there is a lot of competition in this category. But if you're on a budget and want a custom in-wall installation, the Focal 100IW6 should be on your list for consideration. You will not be disappointed." - GREG HANDY   SPECIFICATIONS  Sound - Acoustics Product type 2 -way built -in murable Membrane Polyglass Medium 6.5" (16.5cm) Polyglass Midbass Response at - 6dB (Low frequency point) 48 Hz Frequency response (+/- 3dB) 60 Hz - 23 kHz Minimum impedance 7.2 Ω Nominal Impedance 8 Ω Recommened amplifier power 25 - 120 W Sensivity 89 dB Design Depth behind surface (Mounting depth) 3.44 in / 3.44 in Depth 195 mm / 7.69 in Height 92 mm / 3.62 in Width 298 mm / 11.75 in Accessories Black and white felt Black and white felt ready to stick Cut Out template Yes Grids Ready-to-paint grille
